THE DUNLOP REPORT.

Having regard to the general trade position, the results of the Dunlop Rubber Company for the past year are not unsatis- factory. The actual net profit was £1,576,585, against g2,137,907 for the previous year, but in 1928 a sum of £1,500,000 was taken from the Reserves. A cautious policy has been pursued in the matter of dividends, the final distribu- tion being 9 per cent. on the Ordinary, making 15 per cent. for the year, against 20 per cent. for the previous year. During the year under review there was reduced buying power all over the world. As regards the American Company, it is stated that the results for 1929 show an improvement over thoie of the previous year.
