For some time it was suspected that the chemical treatises

attributed to Geber were not authentic ; but since an original Arabic text has been found for one treatise, it becomes possible to believe the whole corpus is genuine. An English version by Richard Russell published in 1678 of The Works of Geber has been reprinted by. Messrs. Dent (6s.). Whether the treatises are authentic or not, they are among the most important of alchemical documents.
