In The Tramp's Anthology (Davies, 6s.) Mr. Stephen Gra.ham- -himself
a walker who has considerably enriched the lighter literature of the road—has made a collection of poems and prose passages which everyone who has not permanently substituted wheels for his legs should find a pleasant little volume for dipping into at random, on winter nights or while actually travelling, for it is pocket size. Obviously—since any anthology must be an entirely personal selection—it is not the book one would have made oneself (why, for example, is there nothing from The Wind in the Willows, one of the most delicious books of the road ever written ?), but it has its sur- prises ; not the least amusing of which is a recipe-chart for the making of camp coffee, complete with waterfall, fir-tree, and evening star. * * * *
