LORD BIRKENHEAD AND THE CITY.

It would seem that Lord Birkenhead is beginning to fill up his appointments to the Boards of various concerns, the most noteworthy of those at Present announced being, of course, his election to the Board of Imperial Chemical Industries, Limited.. It is clear, however, that his activities are to be of a somewhat varied character, the announcements at present- made including the Directorate of Johannesburg Consolidated Investment Co.' and Tate and Lyle, Ltd., the Sugar Refiners. In addition, Lord Birkenhead's journalistic activities have already been displayed in morethan one direction.
