The Cultivation of Allotments. By Percy Elford and Samuel Heaton.
(Clarendon Press. 8d. net.)—This practical little book, written by two experts, may be warmly commended to the notice of the amateur allotment-holders who have done well this year and hope to do still better next season. The two diagrams, which show respectively the right and the wrong way to arrange an allotment, will probably surprise some beginners who have not learned that the rows of crops should run north and south, not east and west, so as to get the maximum amount of sun and air.
