Very few Peers attended the sitting of the House of
Lords yesterday ; but there were many Members of the House of Commons present,
among whom was Lord John Russell. Shortly after five o'clock, Lord MALMESBUBT rose and said-
" My Lords in consequence of what took place in the House of Commons last night, with respect to the resolutions moved by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and in consequence of the unavoidable absence of the Prime Minister, who has gone to see her Majesty at Osborne, I shall move that this House do now adjourn until Monday next." The House accordingly adjourned.
