The Emperor of Russia, the King of Prussia, and the
Emperor of Austria are about, it is believed, to hold an interview at Kis- Bingen, with the object, it is presumed, of recementing the Holy Alliance. The interview is certain, the object dubious, but the latter seems to excite speculation in all capitals. Well, if the great contest is to come, the forces will, after all, not be so unequal. England, France, Italy, and India are a fair match for Eastern
Europe even in men,—and money, with shells "costing a pound a piece," is.a new element which ranges itself, permanently on the
side of civilization.
