At a meeting of the Court of Common Council, on
Thursday, it was unanimously resolved that a sum of money should be voted to the Gresham Trustees for the purpose of " illustrating the lectures." Mr. Baylis said—
The experiment which bad been made with regard to the music lecture, which was illustrated and delivered in the evening. had heen most successful,
both as to tile number and the respectability of tl:e and their grati- fication. Upwards of 8,000 had attended that lecture in the past year.
It was referred to the Royal Exchange and Gresham Committee to consider what would be sufficient for the purpose.
