Satisfactory maps of the Polish theatre of war have hitherto

been difficult to obtain. This state of things has now been changed by the publication by Messrs. Stanford of a reproduction of the relevant portion of the German Official Map of Central Europe. The scale of this map is four miles to the inch, and thirteen sheets have already been issued (3a. each), which cover the greater part of the ground over which fighting is now proceeding.
