Little Miss Joy. By Emma Marshall. (Shaw and Co.)—A young

girl, grand-claughtar of an old man who reminds us of Captain Cuttle, does the work of a peacemaker in her neighbourhood. She is an interesting little person ; but we cannot say that the rest of the story is effective. Miss Pink-ney and the rascally fellow who cajoles her into marrying him are commonplace in the extreme.
