THE MOTTO OF THE KEITHS.

(To THE EDITOR OF THE " SPECTATOR.") SIR,—In the first leading article in your issue of the 12th inst. reference is made to " the fine old Jewish apophthegm : "Flier say. What say they? Let them say.'" Is there anything Jewish in this " apophthegm "? It is the motto of Ma riselial College in the University of Aberdeen, borrowed from its founder's family, the Keiths, Earls Marischal of Scotland. The original form, as it still appears in the arms of Dugald Dalgety's famous old College, is: "They haf said. Quhat say they? Lat them say."—I am, Sir, &c., J. C. THOMSON. 73 3felbury Gardens, Wimbledon, S.W.19.
