BETTER TRADE FIGURES.
A good feature of the past week has been the more en- couraging figures of our foreign trade ; the exports show an increase of £1,577,000 over the same month in last year, and of about £2,000,000 over the previous month of August. For the nine months to the end of September there is now an increase in the totals both of imports and exports, though for the same period there is still an increase of about £16,000,000 to note in the visible adverse trade balance.
