English Drama, by A. S. Rappoport (J. M. Dent and
Co., is. and 2s.), is a valuable little volume of the mullion, in parvo order which we are accustomed to receive from its publishers. It contains a history of the English stage from its beginning down to the end of the eighteenth century. The limit is judiciously chosen. To have gone farther would have been to essay the impossible. As the book stands it will be found a serviceable guide to its subject.
