Bird song
CHRISTOPHER HOLLIS
Swallow, when you flew away, What did Mr Wilson say? Said our balances were sound At two-eighty to the pound, Said when you came back again, Everything would be in train. All would be as right as rain.
Swallow, when the eager wing Brings you back again in spring, Know that Mr Wilson will Say that things are better still. He alone is in the know, And that's the way that it must go Just because he planned it so.
Swallows may find it all a bore, Think they've heard it all before. Just a chance the following fall P'raps they won't come back at all.
