An official communication has been made to the Helvetic Diet

by the Austrian Government, that the military demonstrations on the borders of Switzerland have for their object the maintenance, Pet the overthrow of its independence. The Diet passed on the 36th a resolution declaratory of the pleasure they felt from this an- nouncement. The Diet is either very politic or very simple.
