The writer of the article " Diderot " in the
new Number of the. Foreign Quarterly, who is famous for the inversion of hi sentences and the mystification of his meaning, says— It is several years since the present Reviewer gave up the idea of what could be called understanding any Man whatever, even himself."
The simplicity of this is extraordinary. Mr. CARLILE is the last man that anybody could be expected to understand, and it is "several years since" every body gave up all hope of doing so.
