and guest Di- arist but assume that it would lie in the power of the former to excise from con- tributions of the latter, items as gratuitous- ly offensive, spiteful and unredeemed by any trace of humour, as Alastair Forbes's paragraphs relating to Perry Worsthorne's (who I am pleased to claim as a friend) engagement to Lucinda Lambton and it is to be regretted that you failed to exercise that authority.
