The National Magazine. Vols. XL, XII., and XIIL, illustrated with
original photographs. The National Magazine. Vol. XIV. (W. Tweedie.)—The staple of this magazine is of course "tales," and tales of a rather sensational character ; but they seem to us to be perfectly pure in tone, and this kind of literature is, perhaps, after all, what artizans and sempstresses, whose imagination finds no food in their daily duties, most read. At all events, the National Magazine is sufficiently popular to be reprinted in huge three-year volumes, with the addition of numerous excellent photographs.
