The Reliquary and Illustrated Archeeologist. New Series, Vol. V. Edited

by J. Romilly Allen, F.S.A. (Bemrose and Sons. 12s.) —There are a number of very readable articles in this volume. Mr. Feasey's essay on "The Instrument of the Rosary" is interesting. He attributes its introduction into Europe to Peter the Hermit in the eleventh century, and thinks he took the idea from the Mahommedans. The earliest known record ofss rosary is quoted by Bononi in his "Palaces of Nineveh."
