The Whitehaven Junction Railway, connecting Whitehaven with Maryport and Carlisle,
was open throughout its whole length on Thursday.
The workmen in the carriage department of the Great Western Railway at Paddington have subscribed one day's pay, equal to 60k, for the relief of the distressed Irish. The workmen employed in constructing the new docks at Great Grimsby have sent to London 101- for the same purpose.
The disturbances at Wick and Thurso have entirely subsided; and the ship- ment of grain has been resumed.
