was written lately to the editor of the North American Review as a sort of protest on my part against an article by Houston Stewart Chamberlain appearing in a recent issue of the magazine. Mr. Chamberlain is an Englishman ashamed of his country and disloyal to her. While no Englishman would take him seriously, an American wishing to be "broad-minded" might easily do so, and thus an absolutely false representation of England be given Lira.
