(National Home Reading Union. 1s. net.)—Professor Kcr is here engaged in pointing out with examples that the most vivid parts of Scott's novels, and the most natural, are those which deal with Scottish characters and are in Scottish dialects. He seems to be writing with less than usual care, and his quotations, though to the point, are not in themselves as interesting as they might have been.
