Condition of France
SIR,—Your review of Two Men Who Saved France gives it high praise in almost every respect, but it suggests that General Spears's account is coloured by a 'particular brand of High Toryism.'
I take a different view, and I believe that what he has written is history without prejudice. Those who were familiar with what was happening behind the lines in France in 1917 will not share the view that facts have been made to fit the author's political be- liefs.
