Letters from Paris, dated Thursday, state that bets are freely

laid that LOUIS PHILIP will not be on the throne of France for twelve- months.

M. TITTERS, the Minister of Public Works, has lately gained much ground in the Ministry; and it is said that the King is desirous of placing him nominally at its head. M. TITTERS is certainly an indefati- gable man ; he is always at work ; his !friends say that he never leaves his bureau until two o'clock in the morning, and that he rises again from bed frequently at five.
