Thursday's Moniteur contains a Royal Ordinance, convoking the French Chambers

for the 27th December.

The Minister of Agriculture has issued a circular to the Prefects of the several departments, intended to allay the popular fear* respecting the harvest. It has, he says, been abundant enough in many quarters to sup- ply the deficiency in other quarters by the mere operation of internal trade; and where the potato crop has fallen short, the wheat crop is re- dundant.
