thought too worldly in his ways is replaced for a
time by a curate- in-charge, a soft-spoken gentleman, who makes himself a great favourite by the unction of his demeanour. Really he is a hard rider, only that he disguises his steed by decking her rat-tail with a flowing wig, if it may be so called. One day the disguise comes off, the game is up, and the vicar returns to be better appreciated by his flock. This is the story, which is told in fairly good verse by the help of decidedly good pictures. The two parsons are particularly well characterised.
