Bottomless pits

Sir: Mr Roy Kerridge (The Call of the West, 1 September) is mistaken if he thinks that most Cornishmen believe that Doz- mary Pool is a bottomless pit. Most Cor- nishmen believe that bottomless pits are only to be found in the domain of the alternative King Arthur.
