FINE OLD PICTURES.
Mr. Than, of Leicester Square, has recently imported a few choice paintings of the Italian school ; among which are three of rare excel- lence, which do not require the aid of great 'names to attest their value and originality. One is a half-length portrait of. the first Duke of Fer. rara, by TITIAN; the drapery very finely painted, and the look of the face intense and searching. Another is a half-length of a female (the name as yet unknown), by PARIS BORDONE ; the treatment and execu- tion of which are worthy of TITIAN ; the face is beautiful, and has great sweetness of expression. The third is a very fine picture by GIORGIONE, representing the life of man. in delineations of infancy, youth, man- hood, and age : the youth and virgin are extremely beautiful, and the whole performance is masterly. These pictures are in good preserva- tion, and are fine specimens of the masters.
