a correction wherein the last error is worse than the first. In my last week's letter, hurriedly written at a time of great stress and manifold business anxieties consequent on a severe family bereavement, I stated that the thatcher's square con- tained an area of ten square feet. What I intended to say was that he was paid by the square of ten feet, which, of course, contains an area of a hundred square feet. The measurement is the same as that for flooring, &c., as doubt- less your readers are aware.—I am, Sir, &c.,
