Cricket, lovely cricket
Sir: The Rev R. Nevin's distinctions (Letters, 16 .May) between 'good' and 'bad' theology interest me. I notice that he is not so con- cerned with the distinction between 'good' and 'bad' Christianity, and this distinction appears to have ben ignored by his reverend and right reverend colleagues who are pre- paring themselves to demonstrate against the South African cricket team.
Apartheid may not be an example of 'good' Christianity. Does he consider it 'good' or 'bad' Christianity to demonstrate against cricketers for the shortcomings of the government of the country they repre- sent on the cricket field?
If he maintains that it is 'good' Christian- ity can he tell me where Christ, in the Gospel records of His life and teaching, demon- strated against a Roman for the tyranny of his government? Has he, for example, any evidence that the centurion was upbraided before or after his servant was healed?
