United States policy, anti-Russian in Europe and the Far East, on the sea flanks of America, is anti-British everywhere else? What is the good of talking of 'a closer alignment of British and American policy in the Middle East' when all this trouble is due to our follow- ing dumbly John Foster Dulles, behind whom stand the American Ambassador in Cairo (as anti-British as the Grand Mufti himself) and the American oil companies? Let us have from your paper some frank admission that the Americans, albeit as blundering novices, and wearing the mask of High Morality, are playing at Realpolitik.—Yours faithfully,
