The danger for the Serbians is, of course, that they
may be tempted to hold on too long on their main front instead of following what we may call the Russian policy of falling back till they reach positions in the mountains, in which they, who are undoubtedly the best soldiers in the Balkans, will fight at an advantage. The tumble of mountains which snake up Southern Serbia will help our gallant allies and handicap the Germans, if the latter can only be induced to follow a Serbian retreat.
