We regret to note the recent death of M. Jean
Henri Fabre. His life was spent in industry and determination, his work was the very last word in specialism, his reward was that of completion and acknowledged authority. Messrs. Hodder and Stoughton are now issuing a uniform edition of his works, and we have received the volume dealing with Bramble Bees and Others (6s. net), containing several chapters which have not before been published in English; the trans- lation, which is perfectly adequate, has been made by Mr. Alexander Teixeira de Mattes.
