We are glad to be able to record that the

• danger of a rupture between. Sweden and Norway has passed, and that there now seems every prospect that the Karlstad Conference will result in terms satisfactory to both parties. The Legis- latures of the two countries are summoned:to meet on October 10th, and will, it is hoped, ratify the Agreement that it is expected will be signed either to-day or early next week.
