Sir: Bearing the recent defence cuts in mind, I wonder

if the Government could be persuaded to allow the formation of one new regiment?

I suggest that this new regiment be called `I bet other people's parents don't put their kids under this much pressure.' 'Ashdown's Light Horse'. Membership would be open to all those MPs, journalists and former prime ministers who seem so keen to spill British blood in Bosnia.

I have no doubt that the Ministry of Defence would supply equipment and transport for the gallant captain and his troops.
