No pigeonhole for me

From Mr Robert H. Bork Sir: George Osborne's review of David Frum's book, The Right Man: The Surprise Presidency of George W Bush (Books, 3 May), refers to me as a 'religious conservative' and identifies my book (Slouching Towards Gomorrah) with the 'obsessions of the religious Right'. Those terms serve a pigeonholing function, and that is a particular pigeonhole I have no wish to inhabit. I had been a conservative for 40 years, on entirely secular grounds, before becoming even interested in religion, and I consider it a serious mistake to confuse one with the other. Please unpigeonhole me.
