A further reduction has been made in the Barak rates
of dis- count, and the minimum quotation now rules at 7 percent. The supply of money seeking investment in the discount market has increased, and long-dated bills are in request at from 5/ to 61 per cent. The quotation for short-dated commercial paper in the open market is 6 to si per cent. The stock of bullion in the Bank of England is 14,772,2201., and at Paris nearly 30,000,0001. The reserve of notes and coin here is now 5,590,105/.
