&n, Allow me to correct a slip in to-day's Spectator, page 219. Yon state that " a Peer is an elector." Now, this is not the case, so far as English Peers are concerned, and I imagine the same disqualification attaches to Scotch and Irish Representa- tive Peers in Scotland and Ireland respectively. So lately as 1872, the present Lord Salisbury claimed to vote at a Parlia- mentary elector, but the Court of Common Pleas decided against
