Auberon Waugh and A. N. Wilson recent- ly led a

campaign for a bust of Matthew Arnold in Westminster Abbey. It was then discovered that there already was such a bust. The Abbey authorities very politely agreed, however, that since the bust's position was somewhat obscure, a new tablet to Arnold's memory should be placed. This has now been done, and the tablet will be unveiled by Professor Peter Levi on Tuesday 28 February at six p.m. There will be readings of Arnold's work by Richard Pasco and Barbara Leigh-Hunt. All are warmly invited to attend.
