There is nothing much of importance to record in regard

to the Presidential Election. A Populist Convention is sitting, and a great deal of wirepulling is going on to secure the nomination for Mr. Bryan, but up till Friday nothing definite had been accomplished. The chief difficulty in a complete endorsement of the action of the Democratic party by the Populists is the candidature of Mr. Sewall as Vice- President. As an Eastern capitalist, he is unacceptable.
