There is very little news of' interest from France this
week. The Administration of THIERS appears to be gaining popularity. Although not a partisan of the Movement, THIERS repudiates the advance towards despotism, which the Doctrinaire Cabinet, instigated by PERSIL, was constantly making. The Journal des Debuts is beginning to treat the new Ministry very courteously. Finding that their old friends, the Doctrinaires, are likely to remain in opposition for some time, the conductors of the Debuts are pro- bably anxious to secure the usual Government allowance from TRIERS.
