Alarm over excursions

From Mr Max Hastings Sir: In The Spectator Diary (28 October), I referred to a threat by the MoD to exile all army regimental museums from MoD property by 2003. My informants, who rep- resent one group of regimental museums, exaggerated the scale of the peril. The MoD assures me that most existing muse- ums will be unaffected. I apologise to Spec- tator readers for unjustified alarmism, and to the MoD for getting it wrong.
