From Mr Raleigh Trevelyan Sir: As A.L. Rowse's executor and neighbour, I certainly can agree that he could behave outrageously (Books, 29 March), but he was also kind and helpful to friends, His heirs, the National Trust in Cornwall and the Royal Institution of Cornwall, as well as some churches in Cornwall, have very great reason to be grateful to him.
