The result of the polling in the Ludlow division to

fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr. Jasper More was an- nounced on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Hunt, the Conservative candidate, being returned by a majority of 970 votes over his Liberal and Free-trade antagonist, Mr. Home. At the last two General Elections• Mr. More had been returned unopposed, and in 1892 the Unionist majority was Close on 4,000.
