American novel of suspense, in which a lawyer's wife is kidnapped, and , the husband bites his nails until he knows what's happened to her, and then racks his brains to think how to get her back unharmed. Perhaps the end is a little flat and foreseeable, but until it is readied the reader may well find the nail-biting and brain' racking infectious—this is a good, exciting read,
