SIR,—Re Rev. P. B. Clayton's article, " John Bull's Mother." Have I read the reverend gentleman correctly ? " To these He prophesies the terrible response that they are utter strangers, and never knew and never now shall know Him." Terrible indeed if true, but what a lie ! " God is love." This would make Him a vindictive, hating God. Do you wonder churches are empty if such things are preached ?

When the clergy learn to understand God and preach the Gospel as the Wayshower taught it, then will you get the men you arc striving after. I hope I have put an entirely wrong construction on the words in question.—I am, Sir,
