The Prime Minister and Mrs. Grantham. By Carlton Dawe. (Nash.
6s.)—Although this book opens well, Mr. Carlton Dane seems not quite familiar with the political world of which he is writing, and the result is that his story is a little inconclusive. It would be as well, perhaps, if a rule could be introduced that no one except Under-Secretaries of State should be allowed to introduce Prime Ministers into fiction. They, at any rate, would know what they were writing about. If Cabinet Ministers read novels, the sweet security of the Premier's majority in this book will certainly make their mouths water.
