Captain OstsLow, of his Majesty's ship Clio, has taken possession

of the Falkland Islands, on behalf of the British Government. There has been a dispute long pending between the United States and the Bue- nos Ayres Government, as to which of them possessed the right to occupy these Islands. Captain OtesLow has "rendered all future alter- cation on the subject unnecessary.
