ago, we were reading Le Petit Chose en Provence. At one part of that book occurs the following phrase (I quote from not too clear a memory): " portent le viatique et les saintes huiles." Translation given : " carrying the viaticum and the holy saints"! From the same grade some years later came the transformation of
