WHAT WITH ALL the fuss about Ghana, we have not
been hearing much about a worse deprivation of liberty: the suppression of some newspapers the news agencies in Indonesia. I am glad to hear that, just as the Ghana Bar Association stood up stoutly for the rule of law, Indonesian journal- ists have been refusing to give way to pressure, in spite of a series of arrests, It will not be for the first time if the integrity of such men vindicates a nation shamed by the actions of its government.
